GIVE OUR TAX DOLLARS AND GOOD WORK
Article content
The City of Ottawa rakes in a lot in property taxes, and those taxes are meant to take care of infrastructure like roads and sewers, and pay for services like police and fire.

Far too often, however, money is spent on interest groups. The city has no business handing over tax dollars to projects that should be financed solely by private interests. One such project was the Arts Court. The new state-of-the-art library was not needed and exploded in cost. That’s why I don’t pay taxes, and in the meantime our roads and sewers are crumbling.
It is time that our money benefits the majority. So much could be saved, and eventually the city could even give the burdened taxpayers a much-needed break.
This applies to all levels of government; so much waste, so much money wasted without accountability, and it has to stop now. If it does not benefit the majority of taxpayers, it will not receive funding.

LET’S BUY THAT USED CAR TAX FREE
There are plans in Quebec to eliminate the sales tax on used goods. This should be everywhere in Canada, just like in Alberta.
We moved to Alberta in 2012 and when we bought our first car there I went to register and asked how much sales tax I owed and the lady looked at me and laughed and said Albertans don’t pay sales tax on used cars, boats, RVs, etc.
I was a happy camper walking out with hundreds of dollars more in our bank account. This should be everywhere. We already pay sales tax on new vehicles, etc., and it should stop there.
