Watch as police arrest boy, 17, found hiding in Bolton wheelie bin

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday October 24 in the Ullswater Drive area.

Officers from the Bolton Neighborhood Team were called at around 3.50am to reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, the police found out that a group had tried to break into a garden shed and steal things.

After a foot chase and search of gardens in the area, officers found a teenager hiding in a wheelie bin.

He was arrested for burglary.

A 16-year-old girl was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Both have been released on bail.

Sergeant Emily Fogg said: “The boy clearly made a litter box to hide from our neighborhood officers.

“Our police teams are committed to rooting out crime in our communities and will continue to seek justice for victims of this invasive crime.”

Investigations are ongoing to identify and locate others believed to be involved in the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting log number 475 of 24/10/26.
