Strictly legend Vincent Simone takes on new show presenters with telling commentary

FORMER Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer Vincent Simone has apparently taken a swipe at the new show’s presenters with a very telling comment.

Josh Widdicombe, Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe took on hosting duties for this series but came under fire from viewers.

When asked if he would take on the presenting role, Vincent told Paddy Power Games: “Well, I wouldn’t say no.

“I think presentation is a whole different skill. I think you have to be good at it.”

The dancer went on to reveal that if given the choice, he would rather be a judge on the BBC One show.

He said that he told the current judge Anton Du Beke to become a presenter and he can take over his role as a judge.

Vincent was on the show for six years, from 2006 to 2012.

During his time on Strictly he was partnered with celebrities including Rachel Stevens, Natalie Cassidy, Edwina Currie and Dani Harmer.

Vincent’s comments come after new host Josh suffered an awkward mistake during Saturday’s first live show when he missed his cue during a link.

On the same night, the poor comedian also stepped in front of Emma to do a funny gag with contestant Will Best, in which he covered his nipples.

The performer admitted before the first live show that he felt “terrified” after being beaten on his debut.

After the first live show, Josh withdrew his presence on social media to reduce the noise.

When asked by his Parenting Hell podcast co-host Rob Beckett if he was “on social media a lot,” Josh replied: “No, not really.

“What I actually did is, I did, like, find time to do other things, like sort things around the house, actually play a computer game.”

In a new Instagram post, his loyal co-host Emma appeared to jump to his and the rest of the presenter’s defense.

She shared a post that read: “You will either be judged, so you might as well choose a fun option.”

Emma’s fans loved this post, with one writing: “The final slide! Loved the show!!”

Another added: “Love you Josh and Johannes.”
