The Thinford branch in County Durham will close this week, October 25, and reopen with a new look on December 10 at 11am.
The restaurant serves Spennymoor, Ferryhill and Durham and is a popular stop for commuters and motorists on the A167.
A McDonald’s spokesman said: “Our Thinford restaurant is due to close on October 25 and will undergo refurbishment as part of our reimagining programme.
“The renovation will enhance the experience of our customers and our restaurant team, and we look forward to welcoming customers back on December 10 at 11am.”
McDonald’s did not disclose the details, but recent renovations have included modernized dining areas, updated ordering facilities and improved layouts.
The closure means regular customers will have to visit alternative McDonald’s locations during the renovation period.
The upgrade is part of McDonald’s wider investment program to improve the experience for diners and staff.
The Thinford site is expected to benefit from a refreshed design and improved facilities once the work is complete.
The restaurant is due to reopen in December with updated facilities ahead of the busy Christmas period.
