WWE’s most unpredictable event of the year takes place tonight as 12 superstars battle it out for the Money in the Bank briefcase.
The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana hosts the latest edition of the Money in the Bank event and marks the first main role WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) since Summerslam back in August.
Debuting at WrestleMania 21 as a match concept, Money in the Bank became a PLE in its own right back in 2010, but the task remains the same.
The ‘Money in the Bank’ is a briefcase that hangs above the ring, which is filled with multiple ladders at the disposal of the six superstars to use – either to attack their opponents or as a tool to climb and retrieve the prize.
The winner is declared when one superstar rises above the rest and takes out the hanging briefcase. In the briefcase is a contract that gives the winner the power to challenge for any championship at any time they choose, within 12 months.
This year’s event will again feature two Money in the Bank ladder matches for the men and women. The stakes could not be higher, as the winners of the two matches are virtually guaranteed to become world champions.

On the men’s side, Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, CM Punk and Kevin Owens all secured their spots by winning triple threat qualifiers on either Raw or Smackdown.
Punk, a former two-time Money in the Bank match winner, could be the favorite for a three-peat based on his resume. Alternatively, a win for Bron Breaker would put him on the path to becoming a main event player.
Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton will battle it out in a match that will showcase the future of the ladies’ western, where the latter could become a two-time Money in the Bank winner.
On the undercard, Oba Femi looks to settle a score with Bronson Reed, while Stephanie Vaquer is at a disadvantage as she puts the WWE Women’s World Championship on the line in a triple threat match against Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch.
Kicking off the show, LA Knight will challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. This match was made official after Reigns was attacked by Knight after a successful title defense on the September 14 episode of Monday Night Raw in Mexico City.

Adding intrigue to this fight is the looming threat of The 946. Having already sidelined Jacob Fatu with a shocking attack carried out by newest recruit Jaida Parker, a warning was issued to The Usos and Reigns, but will they follow through on Saturday night?
