A mum has spoken of her fears after her son’s boyfriend was robbed at Taser and knife point in Sutton Coldfield as she was on her way to meet them.

The robbery took place near the station, where the victim was aware that he was being followed and was looking to get away.
He walked along Station Road and then passed through a car park and it was then that the attackers pounced at around 7.30pm.
They held the ‘Taser’ to his waist while one showed what appeared to be a machete hidden in his clothes.

On his return journey he boarded the train at Gravelly Hill where two boys arrived.

Shabana said her son was worried because his friend did not answer his phone and he said he felt he was being followed.
He had gone to the gym to raise the alarm and then returned to the station where Shabana had dropped her son and his friend.
She said: “My son’s friend said they were Asian.
“One was wearing a balaclava, but the other was not. They were aged 16 to 18, about 5ft 9in, of slim build, wearing black clothes and hoodies.
“They both had strong Brummie accents but weren’t from this side.
“They were wearing chains, they said they had ‘stolen from others’. He was extremely shaken afterwards.”

Shabana said she was told there was believed to be another robbery shortly after the one involving her son’s friend and that was witnessed by an adult who called the police.
Shabana added: “They want to be independent when they are 16, 17 or 18. They don’t want a lift from me.
“But I can’t let my son take that 20-minute walk because I’m worried something will happen to them.”
