One Strictly Come Dancing star could miss Icons Week after suffering a devastating blow hours before the second live show. Last weekend, viewers were shocked after Amy Dowden and her dance partner, Chris Appleton, were eliminated from the BBC competition.

The duo landed in the dance-off against Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu. However, the judges decided to save Jaime, which means Amy and Chris were sent home.

Despite being the bookies’ favorites to exit last week, Shaun Wright-Phillips could miss out on Icons Week next Saturday according to Betway’s latest odds.

Shaun was given odds of 9/4 to leave the competition. Close behind him is Dame Sarah Storey with odds of 11/4, while Melanie Walters is in third place with odds of 3/1.

Jaime, who landed in the bottom two last week, is also in danger at odds of 5/1. At the other end of the scale, Lacey Turner is the bookies’ favorite to win.

The EastEnders star has been given odds of 6/4 to lift the Glitterball trophy, while John Nellis is hot on her heels with odds of 9/2. Dani Dyer is in third place with odds of 6/1, and pop star Delta Goodrem is 13/2 to win.

Lewis Knowles, Betway’s spokesman, said: ”Dani Dyer was our favorite before the series started, with Lacey Turner only fourth in the market at 6/1, but she has very much caught the eye of the judges as well as fans of the show in the opening weeks.

“The EastEnders actress went top of our betting at 5/2 after last week’s opening show, but after another impressive performance on Saturday night, she has now been further reduced to 6/4 for this year’s Glitterball trophy.”

Throughout the series of Strictly there are many topics for viewers to enjoy at home. Last week was Movie Week, next weekend is Icons Week, and on October 31st, celebrities dress up for Halloween week.

If the celebrities make it that far, they will also dance at the famous Blackpool Tower before the semi-finals and final and take part in Musicals Week.

After the themes were shared on the official Strictly Instagram account, some fans called for the show to have more themed weeks. One wrote, “There needs to be more themes, just look at Dancing with the Stars USA, they do awesome themes.”

“Where’s the switch-up week? Celebs switch to a different pro for a week? That would be cool,” said another, while a third added: “I wish musicals week could be earlier so we could get lots of dancing from musical shows…”

Other viewers were not keen on Icons Week, with one writing, “Was hoping for Icon Week to drop. It’s awful.”

Strictly Come Dancing is on Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One.
