Megan Fox appears in erectile dysfunction ad: ‘I was born for it’

Megan Fox has starred in a playful new Ro Sparks campaign for erectile dysfunction (ED), saying she hopes it will help couples treat intimacy challenges as a common issue.

In an interview with People, the 40-year-old bisexual actress said she wanted the campaign to feel sassy rather than awkward. “I personally feel like maybe I was born for this,” she said.

The ad campaign will roll out on television and include a Times Square takeover. In the spot, Fox appears as Ro Sparks, the personified embodiment of Ro’s prescription treatment for ED, posing for the camera in a red catsuit emblazoned with the brand’s logo, and delivering product information through a series of suggestive double entendres.

“When it’s prescribed, I’ll show up right at your door,” Fox says with a coy smile in the ad. “Don’t worry, my packaging is very discreet.”

‘Why take something that is already a difficult subject and make it more difficult?’

Fox said the playful tone was the point, arguing that humor can make a difficult subject easier to talk about. “Why take something that is already a difficult subject and make it more difficult?” she said. “It already feels serious, so make it feel fun.”

She also pushed back against the idea that erectile dysfunction should be treated as a private embarrassment. “You are not defective. Something is not wrong with you,” she said. “You can talk about this. You don’t have to hide it.”

Fox added that ED can affect both partners in a relationship, especially when it comes to long-term intimacy. “Anyone who is married or in a long-term relationship knows that your sex life goes through peaks and valleys,” she said. “When it’s in those valleys, conversations are very important. Transparency is very important, and your ability to support your partner and help them feel comfortable talking about these things is also very important.”

Megan Fox in suggestive ads

This isn’t the first ad Fox has run that has made headlines.

Those Transformers Star was the subject of an online campaign by a conservative mothers’ group after she appeared in an advert for Dr Squatch earlier this year.

In May, the actress was sued by One Million Mothers for the “highly inappropriate” and “vulagr” ad, which was filled with innuendos and saw her in a tight black outfit.

The group branded the ad “totally unnecessary” and called for it to be withdrawn.
