Harrowing moment man ‘asked for photo to be taken with tiger’ minutes before savage attack as he jumped into entrance

THIS is the horrifying moment a man appeared to ask to take a photo with a tiger just minutes before a horrific attack.

Police officers rushed to the emergency services Yorkshire Wildlife Park, near Doncaster, just after 1.30pm on Saturday following reports that a man had jump in a tiger Casing.

The hero’s keepers managed to scare the Siberian tiger Altai by firing gas-powered acoustic weapons into the air, causing him to retreat to a nearby shelter.

The big cat was quickly secured, but tragically the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Now a gruesome video has emerged of visitors at the zoo, moments before the tragic scene at the weekend.

It seems that the voice of the still unidentified man can be heard asking people to take a picture of him with the tiger before the incident.

Footage shows the tiger lying peacefully on the grass as a man is heard talking in the background.

Del Taylor claimed she was approached by a man as visitors watched the tiger below, we previously revealed.

The alleged audio of the interaction was captured by her partner, who took a video at the same time.

The man, believed to be in his early 20s, is heard asking: “Can you take a shot of me with the tiger?”

She took the man’s phone and he posed with the five-year-old Siberian tiger Off-camera in the background.

In video footage taken by her partner, the man – who is believed to be the victim – can then be heard laughing as he excitedly pleads: “One more, one more, one more.”

Then he says, “Thank you, ma’am.”

It is believed the victim then jumped from a viewing platform, moments after the video was captured, before the big cat Altai dragged him away.

The man has not yet been identified and it is not known why he entered the home.

Ms Taylor told the Sun: “He was all alone. At first he was dancing on the bridge overlooking the nativity scene. He ended up standing next to me.

“My partner picked up the tiger and you can hear me having this interaction.

“You can hear him asking for a picture. I took a few of him with his back to the house.”

Black screens were erected around the visitors’ path to prevent people from seeing the gruesome scene as the park was evacuated.

An air ambulance was seen before landing near the “Land of the Tigers”.

It is surrounded by a five meter high fence. A viewing platform, which sat on top of the fence in one corner, has a metre-high ‘stand-off’ fence which the man is thought to have climbed over.

However, there was some positive news as the Yorkshire Wildlife Park confirmed in an update on Sunday that Altai is “safe and well”.

A statement read: “Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies remain with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly lost his life.

“Many, many people contacted us about Altai, the tiger.

“We can assure everyone that he is safe and well and will not be euthanized as a result of this incident.”

The wild parking was closed yesterday for the rest of the weekend.

This morning Yorkshire Wildlife Park confirmed it will remain closed today as investigations into the man’s death continue.

In a message sent to ticketholders on Monday morning, the park said: “Due to the serious incident which occurred at Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Saturday 10 October, the park will unfortunately remain closed for the whole of Monday 12 October.

“Anyone with a booking for this date will be contacted within the next five working days with details of how to reschedule your booking.

“We apologize for any inconvenience the late notice may have caused.”
