Christmas officially returns to Cambridge with the city’s biggest festive event. Although it is only the beginning of October, Christmas preparations are in full swing.

This year’s Christmas in Cambridge event will transform Parker’s Piece into a winter wonderland with an ice rink and charming cottages selling gifts and festivities.

An event spokesperson said: “This winter, Parker’s Piece will once again be transformed into a spectacular festive destination, filled with twinkling lights, Christmas entertainment, great food and drink, and lots of festive fun for all ages.”

There is a wide range of activities on offer at this annual event, including ice skating on Cambridge’s largest outdoor ice rink. People can also enjoy a spin on the big wheel, where they can see the beautiful sights of Parker’s Piece, but also of the city of Cambridge. Surrounding the event will be a Christmas market where people can buy some luxury gifts or have a drink.

After a busy time exploring the market and driving, visitors can enjoy a drink at the Alpine Lodge. Get into the Christmas spirit with a beer or mulled wine while cozying up in the lodge.

Christmas in Cambridge will be open between 13 November and 3 January 2027. It is free to enter, but attractions and attractions inside come with a cost, and can be reserved in advance. To find out more information, visit the Christmas in Cambridge website.
