Two men have been charged after an Ontario Provincial Police investigation uncovered an online illegal drug trafficking operation on the dark web.

The investigation – led by the Caledon OPPCommunity Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and assisted by OPP investigators in Dufferin, Kawartha Lakes, Orillia, Northumberland and Peterborough – began earlier this year when detectives became aware of an online drug marketplace that police say was responsible for shipping large quantities of illegal drugs.
The investigation took a turn when officers arrested a suspect at a Canada Post outlet in Mississauga and seized a pair of packages containing illegal drugs that were ready to be sent to addresses across Canada.
That led to search warrants being executed at a number of residences and vehicles both within and outside the Greater Toronto Area.
